The Paricutin volcano, located in the western central portion of Mexico in the western state of Michoacan, to the north of the top of Tancitaro, is one of the world's newest volcanoes. In February of 1943 AD, a fire, ash, and lava erupted in an open area, causing extensive damage, including the burial of two communities and hundreds of homes.

It has 600 tropical islands and over 900 diverse islands, including Whitsunday Island, Lizard Island, and Heron Island, as well as a variety of sparkling coral reefs. There are 3000 unique coral reef systems, 760 marginal coral reefs, and about 300 hard coral reefs in this area. Along with 134 distinct species of sharks and stingrays, and vast numbers of various algae, which thrive within coral reefs.
